Helping Kenyans help themselves :-)
Happy Moments is a unique charity set up and run effectively by one person: Mike Weimar (know locally as Mr Mike), a German expatriate with a mission to focus resources to people directly at point of need with no, or a minimum, of costly administration along the way.
He had recognised early on that all of the big world charitable organisations have expensive overheads which absorb a large proportion of the donations they receive. Then, the administration of aid on the ground is very often inefficient and the people do not get what they truly need.
He has adopted a well-known dictum and applied it to everything he does.
- When you plan for one year, plant maize and beans;
- When you plan for ten years, plant trees;
- When you plan for a century, show the people how to help themselves and educate the children.

Happy Moments was founded with one mission: to help those people capable of helping themselves. They, in turn, will then be able help their brethren. And so it grows. Every day small miracles are being achieved. This website will reveal some of them.
Donations would be most welcome, no matter how small. Remember, in Kenya, a little money goes a long way.
