The Computer Centre opened in July 2010 and, since then, has extended the services offered to include:
- Basic computer courses
- Internet browsing
- Help for commercial enterprises in making their inland revenue returns (recognized by the Kenyan Inland Revenue Dept.)
- Production of ID cards
- Photocopying and printing etc
- Suppliy of copies of daily newspapers
TV transmissions can be viewed and will be eventually projected on a large screen when the second room on the premises has been renovated.
The Centre is situated in a central position in the village of Makuyu near the transport stop . Before it opened, the nearest computer centre was thirty kilometers away in Thika.
